Yelp helped again !!!
Tailgater's Burger Company is downtown, across from the visitors center.
Getting there, you will pass all the regular fast food joints (that you can find anywhere), but keep going !
In a beautiful old building, on a corner, you will find a great place to eat!
The lady taking my order at the front counter was really friendly and helpful.
This was my first time there, so she was able to answer all my questions.
I went with the mushroom Swiss cheeseburger, and boy was it good!!
Great tasting hamburger, grilled mushrooms and onions too.
They have several sides, and are happy to give you two different (1/2 each) if you like. I went with the tater tots and fried okra.
The place was full and people were standing in line to place their order. That's the sign of a place that's doing it right!!
When I pass through Hope, Arkansas again, I'll for sure stop by.

This is absolutely the best burger in Hope, AR. I did not want to do a fast food burger place for lunch so I figured I'd give Tailgaters Burgers a try. I am glad I did... I had the mushroom and swiss hamburger with fried okra and a little ranch for the okra. Very good burger and the okra was awesome. This place has awesome car themed decor. I really enjoyed it - the service was outstanding. Worth having lunch at.

Heading from Dallas to Little Rock, I wanted to just take a quick little trip before I continued on my way. I wasn't willing to sacrifice quality food for convenience and speed though, so I made a stop here after a quick search. It was a good thing I did. I ordered the Jalapeno burger and if you see my pics, you'll see that it was indeed a Jalapeno burger. They do not skimp on ingredients. Fresh ingredients too, may I add. Everything was very delicious, and service was friendly and prompt.
BTW this place is minutes from the museums in case you're interested. -

After reading the reviews for Tailgater's and having driven more than 700 miles yesterday, we were more than ready for a good home cooked burger NOT a fast food version. We were not the least bit disappointed; rather the food was delicious, the restaurant itself is very cool and unique, friendly staff and plenty of burger options.We also got to meet the owner,and learn the history of the building. They have certainly given the building a new lease on life.
